Building is Clear

I'm sitting in my office when one of the campus police officers walks by. He occasionally walks through just to make sure all is well. So, I don't think anything of it. Within minutes he walks back by, but this time is talking on the walkie-talkie, "Building is clear..." Just wanted I wanted to hear, "A threat has been called in and we are checking the building over, but you just keep working." Really, I don't mind leaving early. In fact happy hour keeps sounding better.

In Training

I found out something new this week about restaurants. If you ever drive by a restaurant and see a sign that reads "In Training," stop, turn around, and go back to the restaurant. Why? That's a good question. You get free food.

A new Chili's is opening near work. The other day my coworker and I decided to go try this new Chili's. Upon our arrival we were greeted by a rather odd little man. He greats us with hello and then charges into his speech. If we are not opposed to a smaller menu, a wait staff that is "in training", and a longer wait time for our food, we are welcome to proceed. Oh, and the best part, lunch will be on Chili's. Well, of course we are going to proceed. So my food takes five minutes longer to arrive, it's still good food (if for no other reason than the fact that it is free).

So what have we all learned? Always stop when you see the words "In Training" in front of a restaurant.

Observation

Tomorrow morning, at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00, the time and date will be: 01:02:03, 04/05/06. Supposedly, this will not happen again in our lifetime.

My Ren Fair costume has arrived! Last year a girlfriend and I went to Scarborough Renaissance Festival. We both enjoyed the day but decided that this year we would dress the part of wenches. So last month I search EBay (the best place to buy anything) and found the perfect costume. You will find yours truly dressed in a white chemise, long skirt and matching bodice and purse (a must for every outfit!).
