My Sweet Hubby

It's 2 1/2 months after Valentine's Day and I am still finding V-Day cards. Do y'all know the little cards that children hand out? Well, hubby got a box and hid them all over our two homes. The past 2 days I've found 3 more cards. Of course, that makes me wonder something. He hid all these cards in places that I am suppose to frequent. Apparently, I'll not cleaning and going through things often enough. That's something to think about.

Mr. Googily Bear

In March I got the phone call that Buzz's Dad had passed away. Though Buzz was on a business trip, he was able to make it home soon and we headed home to Ohio. Dr. Rod Evil joined us up North. While we there, a new side to Dr. Rod Evil appeared and thus he earned a new name, Mr. Googily Bear.

Where the Aliens Love to Go

Last Friday Buzz and I drove to Roswell, NM to check out the aliens.

Our first stop was the lunch. We ate at Tia Juanas Mexican Grill and Cantina right off of Main Street. By the name, you can imagine that we ate Mexican. The food was real Mexican style cooking with a hint of the southwest sprinkled in.

Then we headed to the International UFO Museum & Research Center with UFO phenomenon exhibits. Buzz had been there once before, but this was my first time to visit the Museum. As you walk into the museum, you are greated by an alien. The first part of the exhibit is walls and walls of photos, newspaper articles, and testimonials that break down the Roswell Incident. You also see information on Project Mogul, "the Great Coverup" by our government to keep the truth from us. The second exhibit is an alien prop from the Showtime Movie "Roswell" with the original alien used in the film. What I found interesting was that the Musuem made the assumption that the incident was a visit from aliens. If you read their brochure, everything is presented as fact. Only at the end of the pamplet do you read their "disclaimer," "You have the information now and we do not try to persuade you one way or another. We work to give both sides of the story..."

Our next stop was the Alien Zone. Even though we had to run through pouring rain to get there, it was a lot of fun. The Alien Zone was set up as Area 51 with alien picture-taking props, a blacklight alien space city, and an entire town of aliens. The town was a study on how the aliens were adjusting to life in the states.





A few other stops along the way...


For a little history, we stopped by the Historical Center for Southeast New Mexico. The house was built in 1912 for James Phelps White. Today it is filled with an incredible array of antiques and artifacts. The bottom floor is set as the house would have appeared in it's hay day. The top floor is a museum with various diplays, a Victorian fashion exhibit, a toy and sports equipment display, and a room filled with memorabilia from some of Roswell's famous and infamous.

We also stopped by Roswell's Museum and Art Center before we left. A few artists you might recogonize were Henrieete Wyet, Geogia O'Keeffe, Marsden Hartley. There was also a special exhibit featuring the "West of Beyond, the Rogers and Mary Ellen Aston colelction of the American West."

On our way back home, we decided to stop in the mountains for dinner. In Roswell, it had rained a good portion of the day. In the mountains, it had snowed and by dinner time the scene was similar to that of a Christmas postcard. After dinner, we came across a heard of deer in a park.


Overall, we had a great day sight seeing across the state.

Scrapbooking

I have been teaching myself how to scrapbook using the computer, and I have just finished my first layout. Yeah for me!



The text on the LO reads..."During our honeymoon we came across Marriage Island. The sculpture commemorates the first mass held here, and many people get married on the mini-island for good luck! The legend says that anyone married on this Island will have a long and happy marriage.”

Easter

This year Easter was a quiet day. Buzz and I decided to take it easy and relax. We did do one thing we went out to lunch at Chili's (nothing like Chili's to celebrate Christ's resurrection...some sarcasm intended). We went there for the chocolate frosties. However, after we got done with our appetizers and our entrees, we were stuffed. We decided to come back another day for dessert.

And we can't forget why we wanted dessert! For Lent Buzz had given up all desserts. Sunday was the first day he was allowed to have chocolate. In celebration, I got him a chocolate duck which he immediately devoured.
