Baby-Baby's Excellent Northern Adventure, Part 3

Lots of miscellaneous things to report from our final days up north: We got to visit with HBS's cousin, who gave birth to her son just a couple years ago around this time. Buzz took Baby-Baby to see his father's grave - it was a pretty emotion time. We went to a restaurant reviewed in "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" - Buzz ate a chili-spaghetti concoction called a 6-way, which had chili, spaghetti, cheese, onions, beans, and fried jalapeno slices; HBS and his mom went with healthier choices - a turkey sandwhich and a BLT respectively, with about a pound of meat on each! Baby-Baby got to meet one of the "original" July 4th Breakfast in the Park attendees, and have a little more bonding time with Great-Grandma. Finally, we all got together for breakfast before flying back home. All in all, it was a great trip!

Baby-Baby's Excellent Northern Adventure, Part 2

Because we weren't able to make it up north to celebrate the 4th of July this year, and others were also unable to make it for the early morning picnic, we all decided to meet at the end of July to have a July 31st/July 4th celebration. As a bonus, we got to celebrate Buzz's grandma's 96th birthday, both at the picnic, and at a very nice restaurant the next day. Quite a joyous couple of days, filled with family and friends and love. MORE PHOTOS!

We went up north to show off Baby-Baby to Buzz's family - sister and mother have already seen him, but there were still nephews, niece, cousins and grandma. It was a great 'getting to know you' first couple of days - but why bore you with stories, when there are PICTURES!!!!

The Northern Invasion

We were blessed to have Buzz's mom and sister come down and visit for about a week - Baby-Baby got to meet a brand new Aunt and brand new Grandma! There weren't a lot of activities planned, just some quality baby snuggling time. HBS and Buzz appreciated the extra sets of hands, and everyone had a wonderful time! Luckily, the weather wasn't too bad (the 100 degree days hadn't quite arrived), and the travel was mostly uneventful. The trip was too short, but filled with lots of love!

Happy Fourth of July!!!

Okay, this is a little late, but as anyone with a newborn can tell you, sometimes the time just slips away. Our normal July 4th celebration involves a trip up to see Buzz's family and celebrate with breakfast in the park, a tradition that has been going on for 65 years. Unfortunately, the recent arrival of our Prince Fussy Face meant we couldn't travel this year, but we had the next best thing - HBS's family came over to recreate the celebration using a portable grill in the back yard. We had a wonderful time, good food, and a relaxing holiday.
