St. Patty's Day Celebrations

Saturday, we headed out to celebrate St. Patty's Day early. Buzz found a huge block party in the Stockyards. Not only was it a St. Patty's day celebration, but a Go Green day where you could learn about ways to preserve our environment. I had never been to the Stockyards before, and thought it would be tons of fun. Plus you couldn't have asked for a better day to be outside; it was a beautiful day outside!

Yes, we had special shirts!

The beginning of the parade, a cattle drive. The stockyards
have daily longhorn cattle drives run by authentic cowboys.
Twice daily the heard is driven around the block.

All decked out in green...even the horses.

Yes, and the local businesses were out too.

After the parade, we walked through the area and into several stores. If you wanted Western wear, this was the place to find it! You could also find hand made boots for over $400s. We stayed long enough to have dinner near the train depot, where "Puffy" the 1896 steam locomotive was out to greet everyone.

Overall, we had a "grand" day!

Dr. Rod's big move

Our roommate has bought him a house of his own. This past weekend was the big move.

And we thought all of his over sized furniture wouldn't fit!

Snow in March

Yesterday, we had a cold front come through the area. As evening progressed, we found ourselves in a snow storm! Not quite as awesome as the blizzards up North; but for the South, it was very impressive.
